EFT THERAPY

Emotion-Focused Therapy practiced in Kitchener-Waterloo, Milton, Mississauga, and the surrounding areas, Anchoridge Counselling takes pride in the therapy practice offered to help clients with individual needs.

Our emotions hold the power to influence our reactions towards others and play an integral role in our personal relationships. Emotion-Focused Therapy examines the love and bonding habits of our parents towards us growing up - helping us identify our own patterns and emotional reactions with others as adults. By restructuring the ways in which we react towards those we are close with, EFT is able to help us form deeper, more meaningful relationships.

Emotion-Focused Therapy is a collaborative therapy approach to working with couples, families, and individuals that fosters the creation of secure relationship bonds. It is a change process that facilitates movement from distress to recovery by transforming negative patterns of interaction into a safe emotional connection between partners and family members.

The EFT approach to Couple Therapy sees emotional closeness, safety, and intimacy at the heart of meaningful relationships. It focuses on identifying the negative interaction patterns of pursuing/withdraw and blame/defend that often lead us to see our partner as the enemy. Using EFT will help slow down the conflict cycle and create safety and closeness in the relationship, and create a stronger, closer, and more connected bond.

EFT can also be applied to working with individuals. Whether you are struggling with relationship issues, past trauma, or mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and stress. It can also be a helpful way to help you identify your own negative patterns of interaction with yourself. Through this, it helps you have conversations with yourself and others around you, helps heal the wounds you have experienced, and helps you have a better relationship with yourself and, in turn, a better relationship with other people closest to you.

Emotionally-Focused Therapy shares many similarities with EFT for couples and also focuses on identifying negative interaction patterns that arise within families. It helps families move away from being stuck in a negative pattern to being able to talk to each other in a way that feels safe, respected, and understanding for everyone. It also helps parents and children learn the skills necessary to form a secure, validating environment where family members can communicate with one another in order to solve problems that come up.

Whether any of these describe your current situation, or you are simply looking for a way to create a deep and more fulfilling connection within your relationships, our clinicians Anchoridge Counselling are here to help you reach your relationship goals. We believe that every individual has the power to discover new ways of interacting with the world. Our role is to offer a safe, inviting, confidential space where clients can work on healing themselves and their relationships and promote resilience.

Our goal is to connect you with the right mental health professional who will strive to empower you to reach a breakthrough within six to eight sessions. At Anchoridge, we know the value of giving compassionate, qualified counsellors the chance to work with the population they know best.
