Marina is a compassionate, respectful, strength-based therapist. Marina works with clients to find and utilize feelings of hope by focusing on goals and exceptions to “the problem”. Instead of only looking for what is wrong and how
to fix it, she will help you to look for what is right and how to use it. Marina specializes in working with individuals affected by ambiguous loss and grief that is not recognized or validated by our society. These feelings often come up due to a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, chronic illness, relationship breakdown, and other types of loss.

Marina is formally trained in solution-focused brief therapy and draws on many different modalities to work with clients at a pace that feels right for them.

Marina previously worked with individuals, couples and families at Alzheimer Society Toronto and Jewish Family and Child Services, and holds a Master of Social Work degree from Toronto Metropolitan University. Marina is additionally trained in Gentle Persuasive Approaches, U-First! Advanced, MoCA, and Palliative Care in Dementia.

Marina believes that we all have the strengths and resources to deal with any challenge that life throws our way, that small positive changes lead to bigger changes, and that the focus should be on our desired future as opposed to only

“the problem” and the past, while holding space for how some ongoing difficulties in our lives can continue to affect our present.
