MEET INÊS LINCHO

Having a true passion towards working with children, youth, and families, Inês has spent the last 15 years in a variety of clinical, community and school-based settings. Ines brings knowledge to working with children and youth experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic pain, grief, loss, relationships issues, school issues and trauma. As well as, supporting families come together through difficult situations.

As an immigrant herself, arriving in Canada at a young age, Inês understood the struggles one faces attempting to adapt to a ‘new life’. Therefore, these experiences led to her work as a Youth Settlement Worker, within a Community Health Centre, where she supported newcomer and refugee young people to find places of belonging. Her passion for working with young people expanded to Northern First Nation (FN) Communities; providing supportive counselling to FN children and youth who were advocating for better resources for themselves and their communities. Additionally, her recent work focused on community rehabilitation where she provided therapeutic counselling to young people, adults and families who have experienced a traumatic event; including individuals with traumatic brain injuries.

Inês earned her Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University (2015); a Bachelor of Arts, Child and Youth Care, with a minor in Family Supports and Community Practice from Toronto Metropolitan University (2008); and a Diploma in Child and Youth Work from St. Lawrence College (2006).

As you start, or are continuing, your wellness journey, Inês would be privileged to walk alongside you. She will aim to create a safe enough space, in a supportive and compassionate environment, where you can share your story and build on your strengths and resiliency.
