CREDENTIALS
Registered Clinical Social Worker (RSW, MSW)
Jennifer Aubrey is a compassionate and skilled therapist who is ready to accompany you on your journey to living a more fulfilled life. She creates a safe space to share and explore feelings, honour those moments, and make goals to move forward and heal at your own pace. Jennifer will work with you to rediscover your strengths, create hopeful perspectives, and support you in empowering yourself.
Jennifer has spent the majority of her 20 year social work career working with individuals and families impacted by loss and trauma; especially within the child welfare system. Although she continues to enjoy supporting caregivers with their parenting strategies and marital separation support, Jennifer has found her current passion to be working with those who need support following a workplace incident or chronic diagnosis. Her true passion continues to be working with children and families, including supporting caregivers with their parenting strategies and marital separation support. Jennifer also supports clients in such areas as parenting, postpartum depression, relationship issues, PTSD, trauma, adoption, child welfare, life transitions, and compassion fatigue.
Jennifer strongly believes that every individual’s therapeutic journey is unique and may be supported by many different clinical frameworks and perspectives depending on the individual. She takes a trauma-informed, yet eclectic approach, influenced by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Arts at Wilfrid Laurier University with a double major in Psychology and English. She then went on to complete her Masters of Social Work degree at Laurier as well and she is currently a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the OCSWSSW.
