He/Him

Justin is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who has completed his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Waterloo, with a major in Psychology. During this time, Justin volunteered in a variety of settings including the distress/crisis line at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). Through this experience, Justin developed a passion for working in the mental health field. In pursuit of this budding interest, Justin returned to school to complete a Master of Theology in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at Wilfred Laurier University.
Clinically, Justin provides a flexible, integrated approach that is informed strongly by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Spiritual Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapies. Justin utilizes a strengths-based, client-centered, trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative approach to psychotherapy.
Justin has experience in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient, residential, outpatient, and community settings. His areas of specialty include addiction, concurrent disorders, trauma, self-worth, and spirituality.
In his training, Justin was asked what imagery his therapy would bring up, and after some thought, he replied - a warm cup of tea. Through his work experiences, Justin understands the deep shame often associated with trauma and strives to bring warmth, compassion, and understanding to his work.
He understands that addiction, trauma, or other life struggles can lead individuals to feel that there is no path towards recovery, or towards a better, more meaningful life. Justin also understands that taking the step to seek therapy can be a vulnerable and difficult one. As such, Justin's commitment is to provide you with a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space that allows you to explore and navigate whatever struggles you are facing in the pursuit of a more fulfilling life.
