Lola Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from York University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Lola is a passionate and experienced Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with experience providing care to individuals, children, and parents within clinical and community settings.

She has experience emotionally supporting clients grappling with various challenges, including PTSD and trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, substance abuse, chronic suicidal ideation, mood and personality disorders, functional neurological disorder, and chronic pain. Lola values the opportunity to hold space for and emotionally support others as they address setbacks in their lives. She recognizes that reaching out for emotional support is an act of courage.

In sessions, she will aim to support as you delve into the root cause(s) of what has been holding you back - past hurts, emotional wounds, negative perceptions, unhelpful thinking patterns. She is prepared to guide you through various concerns such as anxiety, emotional distress, body-image disturbances, grief, trauma, and loss.

Her approach to therapy is eclectic. She draws on attachment and trauma-focused therapy models, cognitive and dialectical behavioural therapies, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, art-based and body-based strategies. Lola has experience working with diverse clients including members of the LGBTQ2IA2-spirited and Indigenous communities. Lola uses a person-centred style with a strong focus on compassion and genuine presence. She will work with you to find a direction that best fits your needs.
