At Anchoridge Counselling, we are a multi-disciplinary team always looking to increase our areas of care.

We want to be able to service the Kitchener-Waterloo, Milton, Oakville and London communities with a wide variety of mental health services. We are always looking for motivated therapists who are ready to take on private practice and deepen their knowledge of therapy

Excellent oral/written communication skills


Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite


Flexible on evenings & weekends - must be able to work at least 15 hours per week


Clear vulnerable sector police check


Obtain personal liability insurance


A Masters Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or equivalent in a clinically relevant field


Registration with the OCSWSSW - OR -registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) is required


Minimum 2-years of counselling experience


Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience working with the speciality areas


Ongoing professional development as needed to ensure clients needs are met

Positions are filled about a year in advance and are currently only available at LONDON location for students seeking in person practicum placements.

Program Overview


 Anchoridge prides itself on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals can thrive while being themselves. This placement experience is intended to provide graduate level students with the opportunity to experience counselling in a private practice setting while fulfilling their program requirements for their practicum.










The experience provided here at Anchoridge will be a blend of direct client hours and indirect professional development hours. Students will be expected to be proactive, ambitious and have an avid interest in providing support for a variety of different populations in a private practice setting.

Supervision Opportunities


Students will have the unique opportunity to be supervised by the Clinical Director and Founder, Natasha Lavji (RP, RSW, CCC). Supervision is provided to students at no cost and is intended to inspire them to embrace their own style of counselling and gain the confidence that they need to positively impact their clients' lives. Students can expect their supervision to include case consultation and formulation, clinical skill development, peer support and the opportunity to integrate their theoretical learning into clinical practice.

1 hour / week

4 hours / month



Student orientation will take place over the first month at Anchoridge. This time will be spent gaining understanding of private practice operations, shadowing intakes and client sessions, working closely with the administration team and developing a deeper understanding of the areas of practice students would like to pursue. This time is intended to allow the student to acclimate to Anchoridge and prepare to build their own case load.
