Catherine Scida works from a person-centred and trauma informed approach when providing therapy. Catherine believes that you are the expert of your own life and your experience. She will work alongside you to develop self-identified goals and implement tools and strategies to create meaningful change in your life. Catherine has a strong background supporting individuals experiencing addiction, anxiety, stress, depression and other complex mental health concerns in a variety of community-based settings. When working with individuals, Catherine uses an assortment of approaches, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Psychoeducation. She believes that collaboration is essential in determining which approaches will best support you and meet your individual needs.
 
In session, Catherine values relationship-based care and strives to create an authentic, supportive and non-judgmental environment. She acknowledges the strength and resilience it takes for individuals to engage in self-exploration. Catherine completed her Bachelor of Social Work Degree at the University of Waterloo, and her Master of Social Work Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Although Catherine has completed the required schooling, she is a life-long learner that values on-going professional development to provide the best evidence-based care possible.
